In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “I Want to Know What Love Is.”

Love’s sweet mystery.

A rhyme or prose on romance or love
Heavens! I’d need guidance from above
as the meaning to me is pure conjecture

Nature has devised this ominous plan
to ensure the continuous survival of man
love being a dizzy ride for all who venture

Pondering so many forms all inclusive
renders love’s true meaning quite elusive
when comprehending origin or culture

For each it’s a totally individual ride
with no set rules to use as a guide
only chance decrees success or departure

A reality of life in perpetual motion
a merry go round of disaster or devotion
an ongoing process a continual adventure

There’s not a man or woman alive
whom in love doesn’t glow or derive
the magic of love’s warming enrapture

Love’s sweet mystery

  1. Wow Muzzy…despite a tough topic, you were able to rhyme first and second lines and inbetween describe the “indescrible” forms of love. The last stanza is the “killer” motherhood statement…yes…Love glows….no mystery about this.

Perhaps being in the country sharpens the mind. City busyness may tarnish the verbal senses.

Enjoyed this poem with a smile.
